THE COCOON SHAPE is a motif that appears again and again in my various projects. I described them earlier as my own personal burning bushes, and they are, indeed, kind of a permanent presence in my life, so I want others to sense them, too. These are real, in-situation photographs of my Cocoons—with no Photo-shopping. I say that because people often can't believe how freaky the Cocoons look. Some people say they see 'beings' inside the Cocoons. Others say they see the Cocoons 'quivering'. Dogs have barked at them. Once, a family in Chantilli, France, walked about half-a-mile across a vast field to see the Cocoons, only to ask upon arriving, "are they real?" "Yes," I said. "I knew it!" said the child. "Merd," said the father. "We just had to find out if they were real or not." They never asked what they were or what was real about them. They took a close look then walked away, looking over their shoulders.
