THIS IS THE SERIES of artworks featured in my award-winning experimental film, "Skies Over Ground Zero One", which you can see in the "Films+Video" tab on this website. I realize they're horrendous, but at the smae time, extraordinarily beautiful, too. That's why I kept them hidden for such a long time, along with other work. What is it that could have provoked so much effort, in such inexplicable detail and specificity? The most astonishing part of this for me was the creation of the mountainscape behind which the action takes place; it's profile; it had to be exactly so, and I had to do it over and over again until I got it just right, seen from particular angles and distances. It was only afterwards that I figured out why I had to be so painfully specific. As I suggest vaguely in the film, the profile of those hills appears to match and correspond to those that frame a great number of world capitals. I list them in the film. Google any of them and see for yourself.
