BOWS
I ONCE SAW a rainbow spread out above me and the entire Kathmandu Valley where it's said the enlightened mind of the primal Buddha emerged for the first time in the five colors of, yeah... a rainbow. Coincidences can make us feel intensely connected to the world, and I feel my art is, in part, an attempt to maintain that fleating connection. Since my experince in Nepal —which is recounted also in my Swayambhuna and Nagarkot Geodes— I have a tendency to notice rainbow-like images all over the place. I began photographing them to build an ongoing series of large scale digital C-prints that are both representational and abstract and thread the needle between something purely mythological and something real.
